Shopping Sister Syndrome

One of the highlights of my summer each year is a Martha's Vineyard getaway with a great group of friends, one of whom happens to be my older sister. And each year she and I look on with awe as another friend boards the ferry with just one small fannypack bag. This scene repeats itself even after we both vow to not overpack. And yet it continues.
You see, we both are afflicted by Shopping Sister Syndrome. Symptoms include, but are not limited to: bulging seams on multiple weekend bags; dirty looks from ferry staff; eye rolls from other friends aboard; sore muscles from hauling said overstuffed bags; mild look of panic that something important may have been left unpacked.
This summer, though, things are going to change. We are going to face our weakness head on and fight back. And, like all the very best stories, it all starts with a dress!
With a loose, simple mini dress, we can throw over a bathing suit for day, and add some island-appropriate flats or wedges for night. One and done. Now...which one do we choose?
(Answer: all of them. Rome wasn't built in a day, people!)Shopping Sister Syndrom
